Frequently Asked Questions 

What is the class schedule?

All Class sessions run Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. New Forklift sessions begin on the second Monday of each month, except for holidays. Students who miss Monday safety training will be rescheduled for the next available class session. (Special arrangements can be made in some cases)

What forklifts do you offer training on?

We currently offer OSHA Safety and Hands-On machine training for the following forklifts. Sit Down Counter Balance, Stand Up Narrow Aisle Reach, Order Picker(Cherry Picker), Motorized Pallet Jack.

Which forklifts are most in demand?

The machines most often requested are the Narrow Aisle Reach, Order Picker (Cherry Picker), Motorized Pallet Jack, and Sit Down; however, needs are different for each employer. It is best to research prior to applying.

How long does it take to get certified?

2 to 5 days depending on which machines you are learning. Please call 682-250-8788 for a time frame on specific machines.

How long does the certification last?

3 years

Is it an official OSHA Certification?

To be clear, OSHA does not issue forklift certifications; However, OSHA’s Powered Industrial Trucks standard (29 CFR 1910.178) DOES explain the minimum requirements employers must meet in training their employees who operate forklifts. Our OSHA Compliant Certifications make it easier to obtain forklift jobs by showing employers that you already have the skills and safety knowledge needed to do the job properly.

 

How much does it cost?

$150 for each forklift, or $500 for the group of 4 forklifts

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, Credit / Debit Card, Money Order, Bank Check. Payment plans are granted on a case-by-case basis. Payment of half the total amount due is required upfront. The remaining balance is split over 3 guaranteed payments. (auto-pay required)

Do you offer financial assistance?

Fort Worth Hope Center partners with funding agencies to assist our students who need help paying for classes. Please contact your local Workforce or CAP office for assistance.

What are the qualifications to apply?

Must be 18 or older, have an official ID (picture preferred), and be willing and able to work within the USA. Must be able to pass a written test, and physically able to operate a forklift.

How do I apply and register for classes?

Registration can be done in person Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 9 am and -2 pm at 3625 E Loop 820 S, Fort Worth, TX. 76119, or online at https://www.fwhope.org/application  24/7.    

What if I’m unable to finish in the allotted time?

Students who need additional training time will be granted two, one hour, 1-on-1 sessions with an instructor to complete certification. (Sessions must be scheduled within 2 weeks of original training dates) If the student cannot complete training within the allotted 2 sessions,  they will be required to reapply and take the class again. ( No discount will be given for class  retakes)
